Hello and Welcome

Hi, and thanks for checking out my first ever blog!

This is where I hope to give weekly updates on my progress of the Appalachian Trail. If you’d like to know more about me or the trail, there are two pages on the right hand side of my site.

I’m not the best writer, but I hope I can give honest insight on my day to day progress. I hear that being genuine works best for these types of things, so that’s what I’ll be aiming for.

My flight leaves March 6th, so you can all start expecting trail content after then.

Talk to you on the trail!

  1. Have a great time Orion.

I belong to the Appalachian Mountain Club. When you get to New England, you’ll follow trails I hikes when I was young. 🙂

Don’t underestimate the weather in the White Mountains, especially Mt Washington, and Mt Katahdin. I’ve been snowed on in both places in August.

You’ll meet a bunch of interesting people.

  2. Bon Voyage, Calum! We look forward to checking out more of your blog posts along the way. You seem very well informed & prepared for the journey of a lifetime, or several! Any 21-gun birthday plans? Be safe. Have fun!

  3. Thank you for the updates. It’s great to hear about your adventure. You missed your mothers corned beef and cabbage this year. I ate your serving – AND had you beer, it was good :-). I’m glad to see you’re doing so well, you look very happy in the pictures.
